Claire Mooney
I am a senior Healthcare Professionals Council (HPC) registered Clinical Embryologist with over 20 years experience in assisted conception and andrology. I have worked in some of the most successful clinics in the world and have a special interest in male fertility. I studied at Imperial college and have a masters degree in Human Reproductive Biology, during which I conducted a research project into sperm motility and its effect on fertility.
I have worked with Jonathan for over ten years, and began conducting the semen analyses for him four years ago. I now cover all of his Saturday Windsor Spire clinics and perform semen analysis as well as consult with his patients on lifestyle factors and donor sperm options. I also see Jonathan's patients at Spire in his absence, during the week and, for patient's convenience, in the evenings. For semen analyses I can be contacted directly on 01753 891118.

I hold a BSc in Molecular Genetics, an MSc by research in Human Reproduction, and the Association of Clinical Embryologists' Certificate in Clinical Embryology. Having worked in assisted conception since 2008, I have helped countless people build their families.
I work with Jonathan in the operating theatre, and have experience in the diagnosis and treatment of male infertility, with particular skill in the processing, cryopreservation and DNA quality measurement of surgically retrieved sperm. I also manage a new donor sperm bank within a large NHS Hospital in North London, and work part-time as an embryologist in one of London’s largest and most successful private IVF clinics.
Melanie Brown
I have worked with Jonathan Ramsay for over three years; he is always open to different approaches for the treatment of male sub-fertility and is particularly interested in the way diet and lifestyle impact it. He is my 'go to' reference for all things related to male fertility that occur within my own consultations; I have a section on urological symptoms for example and if something is flagged up, I know I have the right person to refer immediately to. Many patients are told there is nothing they can do to improve their fertility, but I sincerely believe there is plenty one can do. There are multiple studies on the impact of say, an antioxidant rich Mediterranean Diet on semen parameters, and certainly obesity in particular may well negatively effect both testosterone metabolism and the molecular structure of sperm. In fact my MSc final research project is on this very subject. My clients speak very highly of him, for many it is such a relief to see someone who has such a proactive approach, who looks for the reason why something may be wrong, rather than just treating the symptom. Between us we have tackled all sorts of seemingly 'untreatable' problems such as high DNA fragmentation, for example, where a combination of drug therapy and a focused diet and nutritional protocol, with perhaps weight loss, have improved all semen parameters leading to a more successful outcome, either natural conception or pregnancy through IVF/ICSI where none previously occurred.
Our Associates
Jonathan has recently moved to London Urology Associates and therefore has even closer communication with his long-term friend and colleague Mr Suks Minhas.
Jonathan and Suks will now easily be able to confer over difficult cases; their combined experiences may well be helpful to some of the more challenging cases.
Jonathan also works closely with the diagnostic services provided by Dr Sheryl Homa and her team at Andrology Solutions, and Miss Claire Mooney at Fertility Solutions.
Additional close associations include the Lister Fertility Clinic where most of the Synchronised Sperm Retrieval procedures (both MESA and micro-TESE) are undertaken, and Hammersmith Hospital, where Jonathan works with IVF Hammersmith, both on-site and at 92 Harley Street.
For elective micro-TESE and FNA procedures, Jonathan works with the Andrology Department at Hammersmith Hospital and with Dr Channa Jayasena, Consultant in Reproductive Endocrinology.
Over the past 18 months Jonathan has been visiting the Agora Clinic in Hove, run by his former colleague at the Chelsea & Westminster, Dr Carole Gliing-Smith. These visits take the form of outpatient clinics (approximately one per month) and provide an opportunity for multidisciplinary working and cooperation.
Finally, he works very closely with Mr Dimitri Nikolas and Mr J Norman-Taylor at the Chelsea &Westminster Fertility Unit, and very recently with Mr George Christopoulos at Mitera Hospital in Athens
